How do I prevent my dog from getting lost?

1.

Never leave your dog outside alone. Ensure fences don't have gaps and gates are closed at all times. Ensure that doors are always closed even the one to the garage.

2.

Microchip your dog. If a dog is found and surrendered to a shelter a dog always gets scanned for a microchip. Don't forget to have the information updated and ensure your dog is wearing a tag with at least a phone number on it.

3.

New age and new technology. There are products from Garmin, Tagg and Whistle that have build in GPS. You can track your dog at all times. Great for those dogs who are adventurous or fearful by nature.

4.

Ensure that your dog is always safe. Safe as you would keep a small child. When they run off they too get scared. They are lost, confused and afraid.
